Friday Time Killers

A boy and a gaggle of puppies

Check out the price of food: May 2007 vs. May 2008 click here:

It looks like I'll be buying more fruits, veg and bacon. Yes, bacon. The price of bacon actually went down. Whoo Hoo!

Comic book covers puzzle. Just click and drag, will just click and drag your day away. It's oddly addictive fun. Plus the covers are cool.

Enjoy your weekend and don't forget to listen, I'm on Saturday and Sunday's until 2 or so. I feel so shameless. Not really.

Voice Over Guys

Oh, To Be the Voice Over Guy

This is a pretty fun video of movie voice over guys. You will recognize each voice and being a radio person I try to envision what these guys look like and in my mind's eye, I pictured the Disney Voice Over guy as smaller with jet black hair and a goutee.

New-klee-er

Nuculer

Okay, I admit it, and you may have heard me say it. I said... Nuculer, and even on more than one occasion. GAH! I hate this mispronunciation and I hate that it is repeated by the President of the United States of America. What really, really bugs me is that I repeat it. It drives me crazy. It's not like I want to say it that way, it just comes out. I don't know how I really started saying nuclear incorrectly, but I've been caught twice now by listeners. Thanks for listening and thanks for catching my mistakes. But from now on, please only listen closely when I'm saying every thing correctly. *place cheesy grin here*

Politics, Get yer Politics Here!

I am not going to bore you with my political view points... you're welcome. Although I'd really like to, but "they" don't want "us" to get into the political "discussions". But I am anyway, but in a good way.

I have been a follower of politics since college where I discovered the fascinating study called Political Science. Honestly the text books absolutely bored me, literally, to sleep. But Poli-Sci has always kept my interest via things that i
want to read rather than required reading, and I enjoy (and I love that this is a job) political analysis. Which politician is doing what and why. How this event might change "the political landscape," etc. I like it. But I do not like getting my politics from a single source or from a single point of view.

I like divergent but well thought out political and news writing and commentary. I am a huge
Daniel Shore fan. I also enjoy George Will and Matt Taibbi, I usually read his articles in Rolling Stone (of which I have a lifetime subscription, eat your heart out Sueann Rammela).

Anyway, I did find this cool site that is more of a aggregate of political articles called Real Clear Politics dot com. Whenever I type "dot com" I am always reminded of my friend Coho who said he wanted to creat a site called www.wwwdotcom.com way before it actually came into being. I think it's humorous. So, yeah. Check out RealClearPolitics.com and maybe it will help you during the upcoming silly season of politics, and provide some political insight that you may not have heard or read otherwise. Later

1 Year Anniversary @ NWPR
To be specific it was June 8th, 2007. It was a Friday and it was a rather long day full of trying to remember each name and how the network of stations at NWPR function. Plus learning to do the job, which I think I'm still learning. It has been completely worth it. I enjoy my cow orkers and my job and working for a non-profit and, the best part, being on the radio.

Here's to many more years!

P.S. I snagged the picture of the child above , from Google Images, which originated here. Thank you.

Juggling A Glass Ball

This just fascinates me. Every time I see this type of juggling it blows me away. I just can't stop watching as that glass ball just appears to be floating along without any human interference. Cool, cool, cool.

On a personal note, while I lived in Ellensburg I knew a man who could do this type of juggling. His name was (still is I suppose) Alvie and he would do this at parties and gatherings. So a big shout out to Alvie, and thanks for being so dang entertaining. Peace.
